Hillary Clinton accused of breaking email rule at State Department

Hillary Clinton exclusively used a personal email account to conduct government business as secretary of state, State Department officials said, and may have violated federal requirements that officials’ correspondence be retained as part of the agency’s record.

The Federal Records Act requires government emails to be preserved on department servers, according to the New York Times.

During her four-year tenure at the State Department, Clinton did not have a government email address and her aides took no action to save her personal emails, according to the report.

However, a spokesman for Clinton told USA Today the records during her tenure as secretary of state were preserved.
