Highway Construction

Posted online
Kevin Keith, chief engineer for the Missouri Department of Transportation, explains highway improvement plans during a July 12 groundbreaking for work on the Highway 65-Interstate 44 interchange. Also on hand are Springfield Director of Public Works Marc Thornsberry and state Sen. Norma Champion.

The $25 million project will improve the cloverleaf designed in the 1960s by building a new flyover ramp for northbound U.S. 65 traffic heading west on I-44. The project, which should help better handle the more than 90,000 vehicles that use the intersection daily, is scheduled for completion in May 2008.[[In-content Ad]]
