High-school students tour Springfield businesses

About 300 area high school students are touring 12 local businesses today as part of Ozark Technical Community College’s second annual Career Round-up.

This morning, the students are touring businesses to become aware of careers available in technical industries. Businesses on the tour are CoxHealth, Gospel Publishing House, SRC Holdings Corp., Prime Inc., James River Power Station, Paul Mueller Inc., Watts Radiant, Southwest Power Station, O’Reilly Auto Parts, the city of Springfield, Willow Brook Foods and Positronic Industries.

The event continues this afternoon at OTC’s Springfield campus, where students can view displays from the various OTC departments, including automotive technology, welding, electronics and computer repair, construction technology and fire science. Students also will be able to talk with graduates, meet with academic advisers and learn about financial aid.
