Project description: A masonry safe room and classroom addition under construction in the Nixa R-II School District will include 13 new classrooms and several office and restroom facilities. Project officials say the structure is intended to shelter students and faculty from High Pointe and from Summit Intermediate School next door, as well as members of the community. The project architect is Sapp Design Associates Architects Inc., and engineers are Shaffer & Hines Inc., civil; Toth and Associates Inc., structural; and True Engineering Group LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
