Hewlett-Packard announces breakup plan

Hewlett-Packard confirmed on Monday it would break into two companies.

According to the New York times, both companies would be publicly traded. One would focus on business technology, while the other would emphasize personal computers and printers.

Expected to be completed by October 2015, the move would result in a business-oriented company called Hewlett-Packard Enterprises and a PC company called HP Inc.
