With the Feb. 29 presentation of $65,000 in grants to Ozarks organizations, the Springfield-based Heuer Foundation surpassed the $1 million mark in grants made since its 1996 inception.
The foundation, created by Leila Heuer, is managed by Jerry Redfern, senior partner with Neale & Newman LLP, One Corporate Centre, Suite 1-130. Redfern also manages the Musgrave Foundation and the Roy W. Slusher Foundation, according to
Springfield Business Journal archives.
The Heuer Foundation's latest round of grants was presented to 10 nonprofit organizations at the Ozarks Technical Community College Lebanon Education Center.
The OTC Foundation received a $14,000 grant at the event, according to Lindsey Neddenriep, public relations and event management coordinator for Ozarks Food Harvest, which received a $6,000 grant.
Other organizations received:
- $18,000, Missouri State University-West Plains;
- $10,000, College of the Ozarks;
- $5,000, Cope Inc.;
- $3,000, Christos House;
- $3,000, Fellowship of Christian Athletes;
- $3,000, Rural Compassion;
- $2,500, Central Missouri Area Agency on Aging; and
- $500, Lebanon Humane Society.
