Hershey Co. announced plans to acquire the maker of Pirate's Booty cheese puffs for $420 million.
The deal with B&G Foods Inc. would have Hershey take over Pirate Brands, which also makes Smart Puffs and Original Tings.
The acquisition plans are the latest in Hershey's efforts to diversify beyond candy and chocolate.
