The company plans to build a new Springfield facility, and delivery, sales and company offices will relocate from 332 S. Glenstone to MM Highway between James River Freeway and Interstate 44.
“We've had a great year. The market's good and continues to be good,” said Kent Phillips, Herrman manager.
Land for the new facility has been purchased, Phillips said, but the building is still in its planning stages. He expects that the move will be completed in the third or fourth quarter of this year.
Hundreds of customers were invited to the by-invitation-only customer-appreciation party, which included a car and motorcycle display. Among the vehicles displayed was a $200,000 Orange County Choppers motorcycle, custom-built for the event and commissioned by BlueLinx Co., a major Herrman client.
Herrman Lumber was founded in 1917, and has 10 stores in southwest Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.
