Herbalife tumbles on FTC probe

Shares of Herbalife dropped more than 8 percent Wednesday after the nutritional products distributor revealed it was being investigated by the Federal Trade Commission. Trading of the stock was briefly halted prior to the announcement.

CNNMoney reports the company has been heavily scrutinized since hedge fund manager Bill Ackman called Herbalife a pyramid scheme more than a year ago.
