Herbalife shares fall on database error report

Herbalife announced today it overstated growth in the number of "active new members" in some instances in the past three quarters due to database errors.

The announcement caused the company's shares to skid by 15.5 percent in premarket trading.

The nutrition and weight management company maintains the errors did not impact its historical consolidated financial statements.
