The 540-space parking structure that will be located at Olive and Campbell will be nearly finished by the end of the year, providing an essential component of Developer Vaughn X. Prost’s plans to turn the downtown landmark into restaurant, retail and upscale condominium apartments. Esterly Schneider & Associates is the project architect, and Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins and Larson Engineering are the engineers.
Springfield City Council voted in February to give Prost and Springfield Office Building LLC until Aug. 17 to acquire funding needed to complete the $20 million demolition and renovation project. If a deal isn’t complete by April 17, the extension agreement allows the city to begin marketing the property. Great Southern Bank is providing interim financing for the work under way.
