State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert took herself out of the running for the post of U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
The withdrawal follows reports that Nauert hired a foreign-born nanny 10 years ago who didn't have a proper work visa. Nauert also didn't pay proper taxes on time, according to The Washington Post.
President Donald Trump announced in December he planned to nominate Nauert, but he never sent the nomination to the Senate.
