Hearo Technologies names new CEO

The CEO role at Springfield-based health care technology provider Hearo Technologies LLC has transitioned from one co-founder to another.

Chief Technology Officer Myke Bates has stepped into the CEO role, effective immediately, according to a news release. He succeeds co-founder Jim Carr, who remains the majority shareholder and maintains a seat on the board, Bates said via email.

"Working with the team at Hearo has been a professional highlight for me," Carr said in the release. "Hearo’s stakeholders are in great hands, as the same qualities that made Myke a great co-founder and leader within the organization will benefit all as he takes Hearo to the next level."

Prior to working at Hearo Technologies, Bates co-founded Eagle Speak LLC in 2015. That company in 2019 sold to Hearo, which counted Carr and Bates among its primary investors, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.

Hearo produces remote support technology for people with disabilities and other smart home technology.

"To be able to be involved with this project from the outset, with humble beginnings in Springfield, and now to have the opportunity to further guide its success as CEO, is something I'm very grateful for," Bates said in the release. "All of us at Hearo are excited to continue to bolster the relationships we've made in the space."

Located at 1548 E. Primrose St., Hearo has five full-time employees, Bates said, declining to disclose revenues.
