|bold_on|SOLD. The former Mid-America Dairymen building at 3253 E. Chestnut Expwy. has sold to Springfield Underground, said company president Louis Griesemer. Springfield Underground will own the building under a separate limited liability company and will manage it as rental property, for now. The new owners will remodel the building, removing asbestos that has been the subject of a federal court case. Two of the building's tenants, Dairy Farmers of America (formerly Mid-Am) and Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad, are in dispute over asbestos removal in the building. BNSF sold the property to DFA; now DFA is selling it to Springfield Underground. Griesemer declined to disclose the selling price for the property, but said he thinks there is a market in Springfield for tenants who need more than 10,000 square feet of office space, which is the kind of tenant the building will attract. The building has a total of 154,000 square feet, with BNSF, DFA and O'Reilly Auto Parts as tenants and 17,000 square feet available. Bill Beall Co. brokered the sale.|ret||ret||tab|
