The funding comes through the foundation’s basic support program, which supports ongoing activities that are central to the missions of nonprofit organizations, according to a news release.
The grants include:
• $200,000 to the American Red Cross Greater Ozarks Chapter, for disaster training and emergency relief;
• $100,000 to Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks to provide free mammograms, education and support programs to the area’s underinsured and uninsured;
• $200,000 to Citizens for AIDS Assistance & Prevention in Springfield to provide primary care and HIV services to the uninsured;
• $100,000 to Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southwest Missouri for support services for local victims of child abuse and neglect;
• $200,000 to Home Parenteral Services in Springfield to provide home health care and infusion services;
• $77,540 to Lost & Found in Springfield to offer grief support programs;
• $100,000 to Ozarks Counseling Center to provide mental health services;
• $200,000 to Ozarks Food Harvest to distribute food and provide nutrition services to the underserved; and
• $200,000 to Primrose Place in Springfield to provide residential care to the sick, elderly and disabled.
The foundation is in its sixth year of grant-making and to date has issued more than $280 million.[[In-content Ad]]
