Panel considers MCHCP woes
A seven-member Missouri Senate Interim Committee on Health Insurance has been appointed to address issues related to the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan, according to a press release from Senate communications.
Senate President Pro Tem Ed Quick, a Democrat from Liberty, has charged the committee with studying the following issues:
?How the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan can continue to provide affordable, quality health care plans to state and public employees.
?The complaints of several health care plans about the MCHCP, including allegations of financial losses, unequal treatment and contractual disputes.
?Review MCHCP's contracting process and the recent requests for proposal solicited and rejected by the plan.
?The relationship between providers and health care plans.
?Any other related issues the committee wishes to study.
The members of the committee are co-chair James Mathewson, D-Sedalia
