Ramey, Price Cutter, Price Cutter Plus and Smitty’s supermarkets will offer influenza and pneumonia vaccinations at many of their in-store pharmacies. The influenza vaccine will cost $30 and the pneumonia vaccine will be $40. Immunizations may be paid for with cash, check or Medicare B. No appointment is necessary; the immunization clinic schedule is available online at www.pricecutteronline.com.

Oct. 11

The Junior League, in collaboration with The Mayor’s Commission and the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, will hold the Third Annual Children’s Summit 7:15 a.m.–9 a.m. at the Junior League’s office, 2574 E. Bennett St. The Summit will feature a roundtable discussion on child abuse, neglect prevention and other issues facing children living in the Ozarks. Oct. 13

Macy’s Shop for a Cause will be held at the Battlefield Mall, 2825 S. Glenstone Ave. The all-day event will include discounts of 20 percent off fashion/accessories and 10 percent off furniture for ticket holders. There will also be music, activities and a drawing for a $500 shopping spree. Tickets are $5 each; proceeds will benefit The Arc of the Ozarks, which supports individuals with disabilities. American Cancer Society Day will be held 3–10 p.m. at Celebration City in Branson. Adult tickets are $22; admittance for children ages 4 to 11 is $20 and children 3 years and younger are free. A portion – $5 – from each ticket sale will be donated to ACS’s Relay for Life. For more information call (800) 417-7770.

Caring for Your Aging Parents, a workshop designed for adult children who advise or care for aging parents, will be held 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at The Tower Club, 901 St. Louis St. The fee is $15, with lunch optional at an additional $15. Registration is required and is available by calling (417) 234-9023.

Oct. 20

The Gateway Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will hold the Springfield Wine Opener at 7:30 p.m. at the Discovery Center, 438 E. St. Louis St. The event will be a casual evening for guests to sip international and domestic wines and savor various cuisines. A VIP reception, hosted by Vino 100, will be held at the Discovery Center from 6–7 p.m. VIP reception ticket holders will sample and learn about various wines while pairing them with chocolates and cheeses. General event tickets are $50 each; VIP reception tickets, which include admittance into the event and a keepsake wine glass, are $85 each. Oct. 25

KOLR and Bass Pro will hold An Evening of Hope Gala 6:30–10 p.m. in the White River Room at Bass Pro 1935 S. Campbell Ave. The evening will be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. A live auction will benefit MDA. Entertainment will be by local band Big Smith and complimentary wine and beer will be served with a dinner of crab and prime rib. A cash bar also will be available. Tickets are $75 each.
