Advocates are predicting major turbulence in the U.S. health care system when the end of the COVID-19 pandemic comes, The Associated Press reports.
Winding down policies may start this summer, forcing an estimated 15 million Medicaid recipients to find new sources of coverage, requiring legislative action to preserve broad telehealth access for Medicare enrollees and causing disruption to special COVID-19 rules and payment policies for hospitals, doctors and insurers.
Questions about emergency-use approvals for COVID-19 treatments also have been floated.
