HBO to air Gypsy Blanchard documentary

HBO plans to air a documentary this spring about Gypsy Blanchard called “Mommy Dead and Dearest.”

Last summer, Gypsy pleaded guilty to murdering her mother, Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard. Her attorney said Dee Dee forced Gypsy into a wheelchair and held her in the family’s home north of Springfield as a prisoner for years.

Gypsy’s plea agreement includes 10 years in prison, which is the minimum sentence for a second-degree murder charge, according to the Springfield News-Leader.
