HBO names new president of programming

HBO promoted Casey Bloys to president of programming.

He succeeds Michael Lombardo, who had held that job since 2007.

A 12-year employee of HBO, Bloys enters the new position at a time of transition.

"Game of Thrones" is heading into its last two seasons, and the half-hour "Girls" will end after its next season.
