HBO cancels Jon Stewart's digital series

HBO scrapped a planned series of digital animated shorts starring Jon Stewart.

HBO officials cited "technical issues" for the cancellation of the show featuring the former "Daily Show" host.

The project was grand in its scope.

HBO announced in November 2015 it was working with Stewart and LA-based VR and 3D-streaming company Otoy to create "short-form digital content" for HBO Now, HBO Go and other digital platforms. The show would have had holographic content across mobile, web and even virtual reality.
