HBA to give out annual awards

The Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield will hand out its annual awards tonight at the Clarion Hotel, and the banquet will culminate with the Builder Member of the Year Award.

Other award categories include administrative support person, foreman, manager, supplier, salesperson, education partner and associate member/company. The HBA will also recognize a media partner of the year, ambassador of the year and hall of fame inductee, according to the program.

Nominees for administrative support person of the year are Bonnie Johnson, Wickman Gardens; Cherie Houston, Hansen’s Tree Service; Mary Lee, Rock Solid Construction; Diana Royle, Rich & Cartmill; Julie Sowards, Acme Brick Co.; and Debbie Speake, Beaman Electric.

Nominees for foreman of the year are Ray Curtis, Homes by Sam Watts, and Sebastian Cantu, Kevin Clingan Home Design & Construction.

Nominees for manager of the year are Terry Speake, Beaman Electric, and Mike Booher, J&M Custom Carpentry.

Nominees for supplier of the year are JAG Architectural Products and Meek’s – The Builder’s Choice.

Nominees for salesperson of the year are Jeremiah Lee, Rock Solid Construction; Ginger Clark, Southern Materials; and Jon Feldt, JAG Architectural Products.

Education partner, associate member/company and builder member of the year winners will be announced tonight.

KTTS morning show co-host Julie Vanvig Burnell, who was recognized last week as one of Springfield Business Journal’s Most Influential Women, will emcee the event.

A reception begins at 5:30 p.m. at the hotel and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., according to a news release. The awards ceremony is expected to begin at about 7:15 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
