HBA Remodeling Show gets makeover in 2002

Posted online

Matt Morrow is executive officer of the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield.

Remodeling is hotter than ever throughout southwest Missouri, and people everywhere are talking about the new and improved 2002 version of the HBA Remodeling Show.

With homes built better and stronger than ever in recent years, they are more likely to remain structurally fit for many years after they are built. That is good for the physical endurance of your home. However, these longer-lasting homes are generally outliving their style and dcor. As people become more comfortable with their neighborhoods, their school districts and their general location, many are taking a look at remodeling for the first time. If you've thought about remodeling or updating your home, the HBA Remodeling Show is for you.

Made over, moved and improved for 2002, our HBA Remodeling Show promises exciting exhibits, informative seminars and unprecedented giveaways to customers in attendance. With a new date, a new location and all-new attractions, this year's show promises to set a new standard in the area.

The show, which debuted for the HBA in September 2000, is designed to be an eagerly anticipated annual attraction for the public. Here are just a few reasons to take in the all new HBA Remodeling Show.

New dates

In its first two years, the Remodeling Show was scheduled for the third weekend in September. The September dates did not provide the public with the best opportunity to take in the show, as many people were trying to squeeze in one final summer vacation and back-to-school activities overwhelmed family schedules.

The new dates, Oct. 18-20, give the community a greater opportunity to come in and see what the remodeling industry has to offer.

New location

We are very excited to present the HBA's E-Plex debut! The fairground's E-Plex provides a convenient location right off Interstate 44, a great show facility and plenty of parking conveniently located near the main entrance.

New attractions

Students from Ozarks Technical Community College and Southwest Missouri State University will build a child's playhouse on-site during the three days of the show. On Oct. 20, the playhouse will be raffled off to a lucky winner attending the show.

Special thanks to Playhouse sponsors Springfield Mill & Lumber, DJ Roofing, The Carpet Shoppe, Bolivar Insulation & Steve Ghan Renovations, City Wide Construction, Meek's The Builders' Choice, Alside, Acme Brick Company, White River Hardwoods & Woodworks and National Home Products.

Thanks to Metro Builders Supply and Whirlpool Corporation, one attendee of the show will receive a brand new Whirlpool Kitchen, complete with all new appliances! Don't forget to fill out the free registration form for this exciting giveaway.

Old favorites

Of course, community members who have come to expect the finest exhibitors and free educational seminars will not be disappointed. The Remodeling Show still provides the professionalism and education you have come to expect from the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield's Remodelors Council.

Exhibitor incentives

If you are in the home building, remodeling or peripheral industries, don't miss the opportunity to participate as an exhibitor in this show. Exhibit space is at a premium, but the incentives for exhibitors are better than ever.

For the first time, exhibitors will be free to sell their remodeling and dcor products right on the floor of our show. These and other exciting new opportunities for vendors make this a show you won't want to miss.

Clearly, the 2002 HBA Remodeling Show is bigger and better than ever. In terms of exhibitors, the show offers consumers 22 percent more than ever before. In terms of attendance, thousands are expected over the three days of the show.

Don't miss your chance to see what all the fuss is about.

The 2002 Remodeling Show is Oct. 18-20 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds E*Plex Exhibit Hall. Admission is $3 per day for adults. Children under age 12 are admitted free of charge.
