Produced by the HBA Remodelors Council of the Home Builders Associa-tion of Greater Springfield, this year's show will be held Friday-Sunday, Sept. 21-23 at the University Plaza Trade Center, 625 St. Louis St. |ret||ret||tab|
The Remodeling Show, which debuted in 2000, is expected to be even more successful this year, according to HBA Executive Officer Matt Morrow, as people look for ways to conserve energy and make better overall use of their homes while heading into winter.|ret||ret||tab|
"The Remodeling Show is a great opportunity for people who own a home and are looking to expand, improve, or just change the look of their home in some way," Morrow said. Morrow promises a top quality show featuring "only the most reputable and trustworthy remodeling contractors and suppliers in the area."|ret||ret||tab|
According to the HBA, Springfield and Greene County in the year 2000 saw more than $76 million invested in approximately 2,000 remodeling and repair projects. Additionally, the Na-tional Association of Home Builders estimates that in the year 2001, expenditures nationwide for maintenance, re-pairs and improvements to residential properties will reach $156 billion.|ret||ret||tab|
Morrow said those numbers "show that the public needs ready access to established, reputable remodelers." The Remodeling Show, he said, is designed "to provide information and education to the public about the remodeling process through interaction with expert remodelers and suppliers." |ret||ret||tab|
The show is a non-selling event; exhibitors do not sell goods or services on-site, but concentrate on simply showing and demonstrating their products. |ret||ret||tab|
In addition to the exhibits, the show features several seminars on remodeling subjects.|ret||ret||tab|
Hours are Friday, 12 noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, children under 12 free. |ret||ret||tab|
