Morrow received the Gary Komarow Executive Officer of the Year Award on Aug. 7 while attending the National Association of Home Builders Executive Officers Council’s annual seminar, Aug. 4–8 in Providence, R.I. The annual award is given to an executive officer who promotes the council’s goals and assists in the advancement of peers, according to a news release.
Morrow became the Springfield HBA’s executive officer in 2001 and received the David Lloyd New Executive Officer of the Year Award in 2003. He is only the second executive officer in HBA history to receive both awards.
Morrow’s award was presented at the Association Excellence Awards banquet, where the Springfield HBA also picked up five organization awards, more than any other association in its size category, the release said. Other honors were for:
• Best Association Operations Program Administered, for the local HBA’s fiscal strategy and financial plan for a shifting market;
• Best Communication to Members–Directories Published, for the HBA’s membership directory;
• Best Workforce Development Plan Implemented, for the HBA’s parternship with Ozarks Technical Community College on the Construction Readiness Training Program;
• Best Political Action Program Administered, for the Ozark Board of Aldermen elections; and
• Best Specialty Targeted Fundraising Program, for the Coalition for Building a Better Tomorrow’s Sporting Clays Tournament.
