HBA director runs for House seat

Shane Schoeller, director of government affairs with the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield, has announced his Republican candidacy for state representative.

Schoeller will share his position on key issues, such as family protection, quality education and property rights, at a cookout at 6 tonight at Willard Community Center, 222 W. Jackson.

Schoeller will run for 139th District representative, serving Willard and Fair Grove.

In his role with HBA, Schoeller works with local municipalities and counties on issues with state legislature and to raise funds for the group’s political action committee. Before joining HBA, he worked at the Students in Free Enterprise World Headquarters.

Schoeller’s political service background includes staff positions with the campaigns and official staffs of John Ashcroft, Kit Bond, Roy Blunt and Matt Blunt. He also worked as chief of staff for Missouri Speaker of the House Rod Jetton.
