Hazelwood aerospace company to lay off 300

GKN Aerospace is moving to shut down its local composites department, an action expected to result in 300 layoffs.

The Hazelwood-based aerospace company builds parts for Boeing, Lockheed Martin and other aerospace manufacturers.

The company is expected to move the jobs to Alabama, but a timetable on the move was not released.
