O’Reilly Hospitality LLC, headed up by the O’Reilly family, purchased the hotel at Glenstone Avenue and Kearney Street in 2006 and landed a Hilton-brand Doubletree franchise last fall. The hotel has been undergoing a conversion ever since – though it never closed – and opened as a Doubletree on April 23, according to General Manager Robert Henley.
The hotel’s 201 rooms have received facelifts, featuring flat-screen TVs, MP3-compatible clock radios, high-speed Internet and printing services, and updated bathrooms with new lighting and granite-counter vanities, according to a news release. A 10-story atrium offers a dining area and lounge, and a bamboo-landscaped water feature and baby grand piano are situated near the elevators.
Meeting space comprises 10,000 square feet, including a 4,100-square-foot ballroom seating up to 350 people.
Other amenities include an indoor-outdoor pool, indoor whirlpool, fitness facility upgraded with new equipment and a 24-hour pantry, according to the release.
The hotel also will have a Houlihan’s restaurant, slated to open June 16, Henley said. The upscale eatery replaces Rembrandt’s restaurant. The O’Reilly family signed with Houlihan’s late last year and plans to open a second location at Republic Road and Harvard Avenue in 2009.
