Hawaiian Bros Island Grill
Kansas City-based Hawaiian Bros Island Grill has made its debut in the Queen City. Franchisee Ohana Restaurant Group LLC hosted a March 23 grand opening for the 1272 E. Battlefield Road eatery. The franchise group is owned by Zach Fugate and cousins Nick and Nathan Blasi, and they inked a franchise agreement with Hawaiian Bros in summer 2023, which spelled out plans for the Springfield market. The 2,700-square-foot building housing the Hawaiian Bros restaurant previously was used for a Wendy’s eatery. Nick Blasi declined to disclose startup costs and lease terms. Ohana Restaurant Group also has Missouri plans in the Joplin market, as well as locations in northwest Arkansas and Wichita, Kansas. Hawaiian Bros, which currently has nearly 80 restaurants in 14 states, serves chicken glazed with various sauces, slow-roasted pork and other menu options. Blasi said store manager Auggie Anderson leads the 45-employee staff at the Springfield store, one of the restaurant chain’s 13 locations in Missouri.

Spa O2
After a decade in operation, Spa O2 at 2461 Highway 165, Ste. E, in Branson has new ownership. Tori Parson said she and her husband, Aaron, became the spa’s new owners on Jan. 1 after purchasing the business for an undisclosed price from founder Michele Louviere. The couple own the venture via Charted Horizon LLC, Parson said, adding she worked the past five years as an esthetician at Spa O2 before purchasing it. Parson said she continues esthetician work at the spa but noted staff has more than doubled to 16 employees since the start of the year. She declined to disclose terms of the lease the couple signed with 417 Paramount Properties LLC. Spa O2 services include massages, facials, microneedling and collagen treatments. Customizable service packages for individuals and couples also are offered, with prices ranging $150-$235, according to the spa’s website.

The Athlete Spot
Making a move within Christian County, sports medicine and rehabilitation clinic The Athlete Spot relocated Dec. 1 to Ozark at 5349 N. 22nd St., Ste. 5. The business previously was located at 216 S. Village Center in Nixa for nearly two years, said owner and lone employee Thomas Kauffman. Kauffman, who launched the clinic seven years ago in St. Charles, said the new location fills roughly 1,100 square feet. Declining to disclose lease terms, he said relocation costs were roughly $6,000. Kauffman said the cash-based clinic doesn’t take insurance and is focused on helping athletes and active individuals build resilience and long-term performance instead of just managing symptoms of injuries. Services include chiropractic care, sports rehabilitation, dry needling and performance coaching. Aside from serving Springfield area clients from his office, Kauffman said The Athlete Spot will also work with those needing care through virtual rehab programs.
