Haven Home Health & Hospice has launched a new podcast called In Good Company, Eldercare in Your Backyard - Real talk. Real help. Real answers for families. This podcast is a free service to the Ozarks, and beyond, intended to provide advocacy and education in eldercare. Caring for loved ones can feel overwhelming. From navigating Medicaid, hospice and dementia care to ensuring safety and financial security, the questions are big, and the stakes are high. In Good Company is bringing on experts to help retirees, elderly, their children and care providers to prepare family, loved ones and neighbors for what to expect as they age. Haven Home Health is extending their mission of caring for people and serving the community by providing insights and guidance from right here in the Ozarks.
“In the month since we launched, I’ve already learned so much through this podcast from our incredible guests. I’ve been able to apply the information with my own parents in a personal way,” said Alex Wallace, Marketing Manager for Haven Home Health & Hospice. “The podcast, featuring John Ray and Spencer Ernst, is designed to cut through the jargon and get families the information they need.”
The idea for this podcast came when owner, John Ray, along with the Haven Home marketing team, sat down to lay the ground work this summer. They spent many hours brainstorming, writing multiple drafts, deciding on the experts to invite on and the topics they would discuss. From choosing the focus and the right audience, to planning the podcast format, equipment and technology, the team is learning as they go. Thankfully, co-host Spencer Ernst, Brand Communicator and PR Specialist for Haven Home, has lent his experience, time and expertise to pull it all together. In the month since launching In Good Company, Haven Home has experienced success with 140 new subscribers and guest experts are booked through the end of the year.
In Good Company will take a different approach than other podcasts in that the focus is on the roots and resources local to our Ozark community to help real people right here. Haven Home is bringing on local leaders who can give information to help make decisions in real time. Experts from Edward Jones, Fortified Elder Law, Cox Health at Home, Hospice Foundation for Outreach (HFO), Oncology Hematology & Associates (OHA) and Senior Age Area Agency on Aging will educate and inform to bring peace of mind.
Haven Home Health & Hospice is passionate about living out their values, which goes back to their core for caring for patients and serving the community. There’s a lot to learn from this podcast. Preparing a plan for loved ones to age gracefully into the future is an important goal. In Good Company wants to be a trusted guide for people who are going through that process right now, make sure people are informed enough about their choices and have the resources they need to make the best decisions.
