Haven Home Health & Hospice was founded by John and Bethany Ray, clinicians who saw firsthand how large healthcare corporations and private equity were great at making money, but not so great at taking care of patients or healthcare workers who serve them. Locally owned and rooted in the Ozarks, Haven now serves more than 21 counties across Southwest Missouri. From the beginning, the Rays built Haven on a culture of advocacy, supporting both patients and employees while holding themselves to a higher standard of care.
“Our focus has never been on profit—it’s on people,” said Alex Wallace, Marketing Manager. “We’ve built a proven process that ensures the right people are in the right roles, so both patients and employees feel supported and valued.”
That commitment starts with Haven’s team. By prioritizing employees’ needs first, caregivers are empowered to deliver exceptional patient care. Many team members have been with Haven for nearly a decade, some since the very beginning, speaking to the organization’s culture of loyalty and trust. Haven actively listens through “It Starts with Us” staff meetings, where we farm feedback from the team and do regular surveys to capture ways to improve their experience. In addition to robust benefits like paid dental and vision, flexible HSAs and pet insurance, employees enjoy a strong sense of community fostered through cookouts, potlucks, Christmas parties and more. Because caregiver burnout is always a concern, we also cover up to 10 co-pays for any mental health therapy visits an employee requires.
That same spirit of advocacy extends to patients. Haven Hospice provides up to two nursing visits and two CNA visits per week, above the area average of one every 14 days and enhances quality of life with extra services such as bathing, hair and nail care, housekeeping, meal preparation and grocery assistance. Their intake process is known for being both fast and transparent, typically reviewing referrals in just 30 minutes while maintaining open, honest communication.
Haven is growing and looking for compassionate caregivers and communicators who thrive in a collaborative team environment. Alignment with the organization’s core values, personal and professional growth, honest communication, accountability, commitment and forward focus, ensures the best fit for both employees and patients.
Beyond the walls of healthcare, Haven gives back to the community through events like the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and partners with organizations such as the Foundation for Geriatric Education and the VFW.
