Project description: An auditorium to seat 500 is being added to The Library Center in south Springfield. Library officials say the space will be used for a wide range of events, including banquets, concerts and community performances. Retractable, theater-style seats will allow the auditorium to host readings or musical performances. Some renovation of existing areas is also planned. The project architect is Sapp Design Associates Architects Inc. Engineers are Olsson Inc., civil; RTM Engineering Consultants LLC, structural; and True Engineering Group LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
