Harassment settlements add up for Bill O’Reilly, Fox News

An investigation by The New York Times uncovered $13 million in settlements related to Bill O'Reilly and allegations of sexual harassment or other inappropriate behavior.

Two of those settlements occurred since former Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes was dismissed last summer in the wake of a sexual harassment scandal. At the time, company officials said it would not allow behavior that “disrespects women or contributes to an uncomfortable work environment.”

O’Reilly, whose Fox News show is the No. 1 program in cable news, has been accused by those working for him or appearing on his show of verbal abuse, lewd comments, unwanted advances and phone calls in which it sounded as if he was masturbating.
