Merriam, Kansas-based Happy Feet–Legends International filed suit against a franchisee.
The suit filed this month accuses Donald Kory Miles of allegedly engaging in trademark infringement, unfair competition, breach of contract and other practices.
Miles, who operated franchises outside Kansas and Missouri, allegedly converted the franchise operation to an entity called UPfield while still using Happy Feet intellectual property, according to the suit.
