The ownership of Hammons Tower is looking to add a coffee shop to the 22-story building in downtown Springfield.
Building owner Atrium Hospitality commissioned the creation of renderings for a potential coffee cafe in the lobby of the 901 E. St. Louis St. building and is actively seeking a tenant, said Keaton Snow, listing agent with Reece Commercial Real Estate. Snow this week shared the listing in the Eat Springfield Mo/Springfield Restaurants Facebook group.
In an interview with Springfield Business Journal, Snow said four or five potential tenants have expressed interest to date.
"We've had some interest," he said. "If someone's interested, we would like them to throw their hat in the ring."
Snow said it is his understanding that Hammons Tower – completed in 1987 – has not had a similar offering since its early days, when a grab-and-go breakfast nook occupied space in the basement area, just off the underground parking.
The roughly 1,900-square-foot space being marketed by Snow is currently vacant office space, he said. It's located on the southeast side of Hammons Tower.
"It would make sense there, and it would serve the whole block," Snow said.
Atrium Hospitality would like to add a coffee shop to Hammons Tower's offerings as soon as possible, he noted.
The speculative renderings were prepared by BRP Architects, according to the listing.
