Hammons opens third Kansas City hotel

Posted online
Springfield-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts last week opened its third Kansas City hotel catering to travelers at the nearby Kansas City International Airport.

Located three miles from the airport, the John Q. Hammons-owned Residence Inn by Marriott Kansas City International Airport is four stories tall with 152 suites. Hammons Hotels manages the property.

This is the company’s 13th Missouri hotel, including two others in Kansas City: the Embassy Suites Kansas City International Airport and the Homewood Suites Kansas City International Airport.

“The Kansas City market continues to show strong performance, and we believe our new Residence Inn will meet the growing demand for another upscale, all-suite John Q. Hammons extended-stay property in the market,” Hammons said in a news release. “As a major travel hub and a destination site all on its own, Kansas City offers visitors a rich atmosphere for business or leisure.”

Each Residence Inn suite features a flat-screen LCD TV, sleeper sofa, recliner, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, full sink, stovetop, dish settings and wireless and wired Internet access. The hotel has a laundry facility, indoor pool and whirlpool, sundeck, tennis courts, fitness center and a business library.[[In-content Ad]]
