Hammons opens second Joplin property

Posted online
Springfield-based John Q. Hammons Hotels has announced the opening of a new extended-stay Residence Inn by Marriott Hotel in Joplin.

The four-story, 114-suite hotel opened for guests March 22 and will celebrate its grand opening at 5 p.m. April 25 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and carnival with the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. All carnival proceeds will go to Children’s Miracle Network.

The hotel, 3128 E. Hammons Blvd., is the second Hammons property in Joplin. The company also operates the Holiday Inn Hotel Joplin and Conference Center.

Each Residence Inn room is designed like an apartment and has a fully equipped kitchen, sleeper sofa and living area. Lodging options range from a king studio suite to a family-size two-bedroom suite.

Guests have access to a laundry facility, outdoor pool and whirlpool, tennis courts, cardio fitness center and a business library outfitted with desks, high-speed Internet, a printer, books and games.

The building also has 880 square feet of meeting space.

The property hosts nightly social events for guests and a weekly manager’s cookout.

Located near the intersection of Interstate 44 and State Highway 77, the hotel is situated close to The Bridge, a youth sports complex expected to draw up to 2,000 youths to the area each weekend.

Bert Haifley, who has been with the Hammons Hotels for more than 11 years, serves as general manager of the Residence Inn.[[In-content Ad]]
