John Q. Hammons today announced plans for a 225-room, 10-story Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Allen, Texas, near Dallas. The hotel will sit adjacent to the recently announced 7,500-seat, $50 million Allen event center. The hotel, Hammons’ 11th in Texas, will be a component of The Village at Allen, an upcoming 181-acre mixed-use development. Hammons will own the hotel, while John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts will manage the facility.
Hammons is also developing a 280-suite, 10-story Embassy Suites hotel and 80,000-square-foot convention center in The Village at Fairview, across the street from the Allen development.
“The extensive residential growth around Allen’s new entertainment and retail development makes this an ideal location for a Courtyard by Marriott hotel,” Hammons said in a news release. “State Highway 121, U.S. Highway 75 and U.S. Highway 380 provide critical access to the area.”
Meanwhile, the company opened its Embassy Suites Northwest Arkansas Hotel, Spa and Convention Center’s 152-suite hotel tower in Rogers, Ark. The six-story expansion adjoins the existing hotel and John Q. Hammons Center. The expanded hotel is now the largest in the Hammons portfolio.
The hotel is also undergoing a $1 million renovation to enlarge public areas, such as the restaurant and atrium.
“John Q. Hammons’ hotel and meeting facility represents a flagship property and a key part of the equation in our cultivating Rogers as a destination for business and leisure travel,” said Rogers Mayor Steve Womack in a news release.
Hammons now owns or manages 73 hotels across the country. [[In-content Ad]]
