Hammons Hotels and the city of Pleasant Grove, Utah, will break ground Aug. 24 on the 13-story, 300-suite Embassy Suites Hotel and adjoining 120,000-square-foot convention center. The hotel will feature a 40,000-square-foot ballroom and a curved design to offer panoramic views of nearby mountains and Utah Lake.
Since the project was announced a year ago, developers and businesses have expressed interest in building near the Hammons development, located in an area called The Grove, according to a company news release.
“More than 20 office and retail developments have started working with the city in anticipation of locating in The Grove,” Pleasant Grove Mayor Michael W. Daniels said in the release. “Clearly, this area is living up to its reputation as Utah Valley’s $350 million intersection.”
Other projects under development in The Grove will have a combined 500,000 square feet of retail space and 1 million square feet of Class A office space. Ten of those projects are expected to begin construction before the end of the year.[[In-content Ad]]
