Hammons Hotels properties sweep top Hilton awards

Posted online
Embassy Suites Hotels announced on Tuesday its top performing properties of 2009, including the three recipients of the annual Connie Award - and all three award winners are John Q. Hammons properties.

The Connie Awards, named after Hilton Worldwide founder Conrad Hilton, go to the top three performing hotels for the year. All three - Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center properties in Omaha, Neb., Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Norman, Okla. - are owned by Hammons and managed by John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts.

The award means the three topped the list of Embassy Suites' portfolio of more than 200 hotels in the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean by sales, according to an Embassy Suites news release. Embassy Suites is a Hilton Worldwide property.

Each honoree will receive a trophy, monetary prize and recognition during the upcoming award ceremony.

"When I set out to build a project, I commit that we are going to build the best," Hammons said in the release. "Embassy Suites Hotels continues to be a high-quality, successful brand that respects John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts' signature innovations and commitment to an exceptional guest experience."

According to the Hammons Hotels & Resorts Web site, the company manages more than 80 properties in 25 states.
