John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts welcomed the first guests Tuesday to its Courtyard by Marriott Dallas - Allen.
The nine-story, 228-room hotel, located in the John Q. Hammons Center in the suburb north of Dallas, is the company's fifth in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and its eighth in Texas.
More than 400 people attended a public ribbon-cutting and open house Tuesday at the hotel and conference center, which also features 30,000 square feet of conference space according to a news release. The hotel is adjacent to the $52.6 million, 8,000-seat Allen Event Center, home to the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League.
The hotel, which employs more than 100, also features a restaurant and lounge, business center, indoor swimming pool and fitness center.
Springfield-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts manages 84 hotels near demand generators such as state capitals, universities, airports, corporate headquarters or office parks in secondary and tertiary markets, according to a company news release. Hammons hotels carry a variety of brands, including Embassy Suites Hotels, Renaissance, Marriott, Radisson, Residence Inn, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Holiday Inn and Courtyard by Marriott.
