The four-story, 150-suite Residence Inn by Marriott is scheduled to open this fall near the Kansas City International Airport.
The new facility will join Hammons' nearby hotels, Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites.
The hotel will be owned by Hammons and managed by Springfield-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts LLC.
Company spokesman Scott Tarwater said he was not aware of an estimated project cost.
On whether the Kansas City area has a particularly supportive market for Hammons hotels, Tarwater said airport traffic and nearby convention venues have been incentives to build.
“Mr. Hammons' vision is just like a laser beam,” he said. “It's right there in the same market as the Embassy Suites and the Homewood Suites, all serving the international airport area.”
The Residence Inn will feature studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites, each with a sleeper sofa and full kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, sink, stove and a four-person setting of dishes.
Two-bedroom suites will have an additional bathroom and a choice of two or three queen beds.
Guests of the new hotel will have access to a laundry facility, outdoor pool and whirlpool, tennis courts, fitness center and business library with high-speed Internet, printer, books, games and a television with a DVD player.
This will be Hammons Hotels' 11th hotel in Missouri.
John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts manages 62 hotels in state capitals and university towns across the country.
