Hammons, founder and CEO of Springfield-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, will own the hotel, and his company will manage it.
The eight-story, 263-suite hotel will adjoin a 75,000-square-foot convention center, all set on 20 acres next to the Fort Collins–Loveland Airport, according to a company news release. The property also will be near several northern Colorado economic drivers – including Hewlett-Packard, a Wal-Mart Distribution Center and an Anheuser-Busch brewery – and a 1 million-square-foot shopping center now under development.
The 276,000-square-foot hotel is set to open March 1, 2009.
The hotel and convention center are expected to bring in about $65 million in revenue for Larimer County during a 55-year ground lease arranged with Hammons, according to the release.
This will be fourth full-service hotel Hammons has built along the Colorado front range as he continues his expansion into the western United States; he announced developments in Idaho and Utah earlier this year.[[In-content Ad]]
