Hallmark starts involuntary layoffs at KC HQ

After not enough employees volunteered for a buyout laid out in March, Hallmark Cards Inc. has turned to involuntary layoffs at its Kansas City headquarters.

However, the previously announced figure of 200 eliminations has been reduced to 165, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.

The layoffs are expected to take effect in mid-June.
