Hallmark recalls wrapping paper with 'swastika' pattern

Wrapping paper that appears to contain a swastika pattern in the trim is being recalled from stores nationwide after an outraged California shopper noticed it.

Kansas City-based Hallmark Cards Inc., which licensed the wrapping paper, has asked retailers to remove the offending products.

"We apologize for the oversight and apologize to anyone who was offended. That obviously was not our intent," Hallmark spokeswoman Julie Elliott told the Kansas City Star. "It was an oversight on our part to not notice the intersecting lines that could be seen as a swastika pattern."
