A report by property analytics firm CoreLogic indicates over half of homes or businesses hit by flooding in Houston may be uninsured.
In the Houston metropolitan area, 52 percent of homes or commercial properties at risk of flooding are outside of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's special flood hazard areas.
Only people within the areas are required to buy flood insurance.
