A new report by Norton Cyber Security found hackers stole more than $172 million from people last year.
The report found 44 percent of consumers were affected by a cybercrime in 20 countries worldwide.
Norton found cybercrime victims share three common traits.
1. They're overconfident in their cybersecurity protection efforts.
2. They favor multiple devices.
3. They dismiss the basics, such as using multiple passwords.
