Hackers stole about $40 million worth of bitcoin from Binance, which, according to Bloomberg, is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges.
The hackers used a “variety of techniques," including phishing and viruses, to steal some 7,000 bitcoins in a single transaction.
Binance officials said an emergency insurance fund covered the losses, so users were not affected.
