A hacking group behind a sprawling ransomware attack is demanding $70 million to unlock impact businesses.
The group, REvil, is seeking the funds in bitcoin.
The cyberattack hit hours before the Independence Day holiday weekend. Businesses were breached via software management tools made by Miami-based firm Kaseya. Officials with Kaseya said “fewer than 1,500 downstream businesses" had been affected.
