Habitat for Humanity celebrates new ReStore location

Posted online
Habitat for Humanity of Springfield held a ribbon-cutting for the new location of its ReStore today and will celebrate with a grand-opening event on Saturday.

The ReStore – which sells new and used donated building supplies at reduced prices to the public – is now at 2410 S. Scenic Ave. in a building donated by Keltner Enterprises.

A ribbon-cutting was held Friday morning, and the grand-opening celebration will be 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday and feature live music, door prizes and a “restored art” auction.

The facility has 48,000 square feet of warehouse and office space and is four times larger than Habitat’s previous space at 4535 W. Chestnut Expressway, according to a Habitat news release. With the additional space, the ReStore can accept more donations and sell more products, including lawn and garden supplies and furniture.

Donations are tax-deductible and are accepted from individuals and businesses. Free pick-up service is available in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa and Republic.

All proceeds from the ReStore go to Habitat Springfield’s home-building operations.[[In-content Ad]]
